1883-1887 Six German families
settled in the area and they met in their homes with the Rev.
J.J. Mayer from the Zion Emmanuel church in Petoskey.
1887-1903 The constitution was drawn up and signed by 18 charter
members. All sermons and teaching were in the German language.
1934 - Joined a Reformed group and became known as Evangelical
and Reformed.
1956- Rev. Theophil Gabler was the first minister to live
in the area. Plans were made to build a new church building
on the highway.
1958- Merged with the Congregational Christian churches to
become the United Church of Christ.
1959- Corner stone laid for the new church building.
1960 June 5, Pentecost Sunday. The first service in the new
building. Rev. T. Gabler, the pastor, formed a procession
at the old church carrying the pulpit bible, cross and sacred
vessels to the new church.
1964- August 30, Sunday. The new church building consecrated
and the mortgage burned
1966-Rev. Woodrow Hall family moved into the new parsonage.
